Maker & Markings

This skillet displays the Wagner Ware “Arc Logo” with SIDNEY –O– beneath it — the classic mark used from ~1915 through the early 1920s.

Back Markings

  • Wagner Ware (Arc Logo)

  • SIDNEY –O–

  • Pattern: 1061A

The trailing “A” on this pattern number indicates a revised mold in the 1061 series — usually a second-generation bottom pattern with minor adjustments made to casting flow or cooling shrinkage.

Front Markings

  • Large “11” on the handle

Historical Notes

The size No. 11 is one of the hardest-to-find standard skillet sizes within the 0–14 Wagner arc-logo lineup. It sits between the common No. 10 and the very large No. 12 and was produced in lower quantities due to lower household demand for this intermediate size.

The 1061A variant is one of the last refinements before Wagner transitioned toward the stylized logo changes of the mid-1920s.

Casting Features

Raised heat ring, smooth and fully intact
Classic Wagner finger-grip handle with elongated teardrop opening
Correct 1915–1920 era pour spouts: shallow, rounded, and uniform
Beautiful interior grinding, typical of pre-1930s high-finish Wagner production

This example shows excellent sidewall symmetry — a hallmark of high-quality Wagner molds.

Condition Assessment (Post-Restoration)

Exterior

  • Even, matte seasoning base

  • No cracks, warping, or casting defects

  • Pattern marks crisp and legible

Interior

  • Smooth Wagner finish

  • No pitting or spider cracks

  • Only light utensil wear — appropriate for its age

This is a premium collector-grade example of the 1061A.

Collector Significance

The No. 11 (1061A) is among the most desirable pieces for anyone assembling a full 0–14 Wagner Ware size run, because:

  • Production numbers were far lower than Nos. 8, 9, and 10.

  • Surviving examples are scarce, especially in clean, unpitted condition.

  • The “A” revision pattern is even less common than the standard 1061.

In top condition, these command strong interest from advanced Wagner collectors.
